FAIRWINDS - LEAVE IT TO BEAVER - Want any trees felled? JULY 26/05 - PARALLEL UNIVERSE I - On my visit to Duncan, the only photos I got were the Common Yellowthroat and Barn Swallows. Somenoes at mid-day was hot. I had my eye on those lucious ripe black berries, but I was distracted by a pair of Common Yellowthroat. There must have been a nest nearby as the female seemed to be saving the juicy green worm for someone. I'd never driven the road behind the Red Rooster before. It was a beautiful picturesque farming area. There were a lot of Barn Swallows around. JULY 28/05 - PARALLEL UNIVERSE II - On my trip to Victoria, the only photos I got were the Common Yellowthroat and Barn Swallows. Ogden Point - I was looking for the Wandering Tattler. Last time I got the Rhino. Today I got the Barn Swallows. Looking at the bright side, at least there was a consolation bird on both occasions. The little kiddies were hungry and they sure let everyone know. Can you imagine how many mosquitoes it must take to make a decent meal for one of the juveniles?
I'd never stopped at the Langford Boardwalk before. It looked like a great bird habitat. I checked out the first 100 meters and there was an abundance of Common Yellowthroat. I'm going to check out the whole path next time. JULY 29/05 - I've been looking all summer for a Caspian Tern. I finally found one on Tree Island. There were a lot of species on Tree Island, but mostly for the spotting scope. I took a few Bonaparte Gull shots to amuse myself. The Caspians have eluded me all summer. I normally see a few at Columbia Beach or French Creek, but this year, I had to go to Tree Island.
