JOURNAL 78 - THE NOVICE BIRDER

Feb. 15/05 - YIP THE DIP?

After striking out 3 times in Duncan a few days ago, people were starting to call me "YIP the DIP," but what a difference a day makes. Today I just happen to be driving by YVR when I decided to swing by Iona to see if my twitching luck was all bad. Well, forget "Yip the Dip". Today it was "Yip the Trip" as I tripped right out with the GRAY-CROWNED ROSY FINCHES (just past biffy), and as if that wasn't enough, on the way back, I almost tripped over the PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVER. Since a picture is supposed to be worth a 1000 words, I won't bore you with any inane commentary today. Just relax and let the pictures speak for themselves. (By the way, it was a pleasure meeting Carlo out there. We also saw the Snow Buntings and a few swallows (sp)
